What her colour means

Rain is a cream, and the only smooth coat among our current puppies — the other nine are long-haired. Cream is a genuine single colour rather than a pattern: no points, no marbling, no white patching, with a black nose and dark eyes.

One thing worth knowing if you shop around: “English cream” is a pedigree claim, not a colour. It refers to cream dogs descending from particular English show lines, and it is used to justify a large price premium. It is not a separate colour, it is not visible in a photograph, and it is only meaningful if the seller can show you the pedigree behind the claim. We are not charging a premium for Rain.

Cream is not a dilute and not a merle, so neither colour dilution alopecia nor the dapple risks apply. More on cream Dachshunds, and on smooth coats.

What is included at $1,000

Age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a vet health check, a one-year health guarantee, and a written record of both parents’ coat patterns. She is started on potty training and raised in the house rather than a kennel.

Seeing her before you pay

We do a live video call before any payment, so you can watch her move, see how she reacts to a noise, and ask whatever you want. We do not ask for payment before that call.
