What his colour means

Kio is a black piebald: a white base with solid black patches, a black nose, and dark brown eyes. It is worth being precise about this, because piebald and dapple look superficially similar to a buyer and are genetically very different.

Piebald is recessive — a puppy needs the gene from both parents to show it — and it carries no pattern-linked health risk. Two piebalds can safely be bred together. Dapple is the merle gene, and two dapples cannot. His dark eyes are part of what confirms he is a piebald rather than a dapple; blue eyes would be far more common in the latter. What is included at $1,000

Age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a vet health check, a one-year health guarantee, and a written record of both parents’ coat patterns. He is started on potty training and raised in the house rather than a kennel.
