What her colour means

Forster is a chocolate dapple: a brown base coat broken with the lighter marbling of the dapple (merle) gene. Her brown nose and blue eyes are both consistent with that combination. She carries a single dapple gene, not two — only one of her parents is a dapple, which is the pairing that matters, because two dapple parents can produce a double dapple with deafness or eye defects. The dapple page explains how we pair for this.

Chocolate is not a dilute colour, so the coat-thinning problem that affects blue and Isabella Dachshunds does not apply to her. More on chocolate and black Dachshunds.

What is included at $1,000

Age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a vet health check, a one-year health guarantee, and a written record of both parents’ coat patterns. She is started on potty training and raised in the house rather than a kennel.

Seeing her before you pay

We do a live video call before any payment. You can watch her move, see how she reacts to a noise, and ask whatever you want — including pointing the camera at her nose and eyes to confirm the colour yourself. We do not ask for payment before that call.

Start an application or contact us to arrange the call. To compare her with the others, see all ten available puppies.
